Abstract:

One of the longstanding problems in cultural studies and the impact of human behavior in cultural change is to predict how this dynamic concept is disseminated and evolved. The Mem word is the basis for describing the expansion of thoughts, beliefs and cultural phenomena based on the EVOLUTIONary principles of mathematical application and modeling, which helped to resolve the problem long ago. The foundational approach has provided a good basis for modeling cultural EVOLUTION in the mimetic way. The basis factor is a model that includes one or more factors along with the environment in which the agents are located, so that they can provide interaction, communication, and decision making for the agents and can accurately measure the outcome of the interactions after a certain number of collisions. In this article, we have studied one of the subcategories of applied culture, organizational culture, and how we evolved the organizational culture. The theory of the power of the fault line is one of the most accurate computational models of organizational culture dynamics, which shows the effect of the similarity of the characteristics of individuals in team solidarity and coherent culture. Given that the outcomes of this research provide a fairly accurate picture of the impact of different factors on organizational culture changes, it can be of great help to strategic planning of the organization.

Abstract:

Nowadays, Chronic Renal Failure (CRF) is considered as one of the common diseases of mankind. CRF threatens the well being and health of patients. One of the main stressors that the patients with CRF may experience is the continuous and permanent treatment with dialysis. Also, as the treatment takes time and is invasive, patients frequently lose their jobs. The main objective of this descriptive study was to evaluate the relation of coping STRATEGIES with psychological complications in hemodialysis patients. A total of fifty – five patients were randomly selected and the information was collected using a questionnaire and a standard from of  SCI90. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between coping methods of escape and depression, aloofness and aggression, pickiness nature, depression and sensitivity.(p< 0.05). Therefore, a significant correlation exists between psychological complications and coping methods.

Abstract:

The ongoing outbreak of COVID-19 that began in Wuhan, China, has constituted a Public Health Emergency of International Concern, and spread all over the world. In a phylogenetic network analysis of human severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-Cov-2) genomes, three central variants were distinguished by amino acid changes, which named A, B, and C,with A being the ancestral type according to the bat outgroup coronavirus. The A and C types are found in significant proportions outside East Asia, that is, in Europeans and Americans. In contrast, the B type is the most common type in East Asia. The emergency that the world faces today demands that urgent and effective measures must be developed to protect people at high risk of transmission. WHO has accelerated research in diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics for this novel coronavirus. The various STRATEGIES for prevention of transmission and infection of this respiratory pathogen includes: non pharmacological interventions and specific protection through chemoprophylaxis or immunoprophylaxis. Patients are the primary source of infection. A confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported, whose oropharyngeal swab test of SARS-CoV-2 RNA turned positive in convalescence. This case highlights the importance of active surveillance of SARSCoV-2 RNA for infectivity assessment.

Abstract:

The present research studied the (causal, contextual, and intervening) conditions, STRATEGIES, and consequences of violence in the lives of child wives in Chabahar city, conducted with a qualitative methodology based on grounded theory. For this purpose, in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 28 child-married girls in Chabahar city who were selected through theoretical sampling and snowball method. The analysis of the data in the framework of the three-level open, axial and selective coding system showed that gendered inequality and discrimination, women's inferiority, men's value, the culture of silence and the culture of violence play a role in the experience of child-wives in terms of violence (causal conditions), which leads to a type of increased, double violence for them (core category); violence that operates within the framework of the family institution, the main mechanism of which are previous traditions and rules, and the perpetrators of which are men and women who were themselves the victims of the same traditions and rules that they have, now, internalized and used again against their daughters. This increased violence happens in a context where patriarchy is widespread (contextual conditions) and due to the generalized self-deprecation among child wives (intervening conditions), they may attempt to escape, get separated, threaten, and commit suicide (STRATEGIES), and these actions have consequences such as symbolic, physical, and sexual violence and even social isolation (consequences).

Abstract:

Background and Aim: Image brightness heterogeneity is one of the major challenges in computer image processing that can lead to inaccurate results in image segmentation. Despite the existence of numerous segmentation methods, few studies have been conducted on the effect of brightness heterogeneity and the selection of the best color channels in segmentation. In this paper, different color spaces have been used for automatic detection of skin lesions. Methods: In this study, the LSE (Level Set EVOLUTION) segmentation method along with intensity smoothing has been used for computer recognition of skin lesions. First, the brightness heterogeneity is reduced and a more uniform image is created. Then, the proposed segmentation divides the image domain into distinct regions. This method results in more accurate recognition of skin lesions. Results: The proposed method has been tested on 200 dermoscopic images from the known PH2 dataset using different color channels. The results show that this method performs better than other methods. Accuracy of 97%, sensitivity of 98%, specificity of 99% and Dice coefficient of 92% have been obtained. Conclusion: This method has the ability to accurately isolate and diagnose lesions and can help doctors in the treatment process of skin lesions.

Abstract:

The integration of smart technologies in modern buildings has rEVOLUTIONized the way buildings are designed, constructed, and operated. However, rapid advancements in smart building technologies have posed complex challenges, particularly in integrating and effectively utilizing these technologies to maximize building efficiency, sustainability, and user comfort. This research aims to enhance understanding of this issue by elucidating the benefits and potential applications of scenario planning as a strategic tool in designing smart buildings. Key questions addressed include: How can scenario planning be used to address the integration challenges of smart technologies? What are the critical drivers influencing smart building design? By employing scenario-based approaches to create more housing using new technologies and improve residential quality of life, this study identifies key drivers: "Legal and Social Framework" and "Technology Acceptance and Integration" through expert consultations and the Intuitive Logic Scenario Planning method. This led to the development of four scenarios: the Coordinated Horizon Scenario, the Disruptive Crossroads Scenario, the Renaissance of Regulations Scenario, and the Resilience and Recession Scenario. After comprehensive scenario development, an analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of each scenario was conducted, yielding key insights. Ultimately, based on the results obtained, a comprehensive and coherent approach for innovative STRATEGIES in designing smart buildings was presented, encompassing important options such as prioritizing user-centered design principles, supporting regulatory frameworks, embracing continuous learning, adaptability, and agility, promoting social justice and equal opportunities, and enhancing resilience to crises.

Abstract:

The study objective was to evaluate the effects of reducing dietary starch content in fresh cow diets while maintaining NDF levels by substituting barley grain (BG), corn silage (CS), or both with beet pulp (BP) on DMI, lactation performance, serum mineral and metabolites concentrations, liver enzymes and liver functionality index (LFI), serum insulin and revised quantitative insulin sensitivity check index (RQUICKI). Thirty-six multiparous cows were randomly assigned to 1 of 4 experimental diets from calving to 21 days in lactation. Experimental diets were a high-starch diet with ground BG (CO; 24.9% starch; 0% BP) and 3 low-starch diets where BP substituted for either BG (BB; 19.6% starch; 7% BP), CS (BC; 20.6% starch; 12% BP) or CS and BG (BCB; 20.3% starch; 12% BP). Relative to CO cows (16.50 kg/d), DMI was greater for BC (17.70 kg/d) and BCB (17.50 kg/d) cows, but it was lesser in BB (15.60 kg/d) cows. Similar to DMI results, milk yields tended to be greater for BC (37.89 kg/d) and BCB cows (37.81 kg/d) compared to CO cows (35.41 kg/d), but BB cows (33.05 kg/d) tended to produce less milk than CO cows. Relative to CO, cows fed BB had lower serum glucose concentrations, whereas cows fed BC and BCB had higher serum glucose. Serum insulin concentrations were lower for BB cows than for other exprimental groups. Relative to CO, serum NEFA and BHB concentrations were lower for BC and BCB, but was similar between BB and CO. The RQUICKI was lower for CO, BC cows than BB cows, and cows in BCB tended to have less RQUICKI compared to BB during postpartum. The concentrations of gamma glutamyl transferase were lower in BC and BCB cows relative to CO and BB cows. The cows fed CO and BB had higher serum bilirubin relative to cows fed BC and BCB diets. Although, LFI for CO cows was similar to cows on BB, BC and BCB, BC cows had higher LFI than BB cows and tended to have greater LFI than CO cows. Overall, reducing dietary starch by replacing CS (BC) or a mix of CS and BG (BCB) with BP positively affected DMI and milk yield and indicated improved energy metabolism and liver function during the first 21 d of lactation compared to when BP was fed instead of BG to reduce starch (BB).

Abstract:

Dear Editor: During the COVID-19 outbreak, non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPI) such as mask-wearing, hand rubs, quarantine on arrival, school and workplace closures and societal behavior modifications were made. Public health efforts and travel restrictions have significantly reduced global influenza circulation. Seasonal influenza epidemics occur every year and result in hundreds of fatalities and high rates of morbidity. 1, 2 The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted these patterns, and in many areas, the regular circulation of these viruses has been absent for more than two years. During the early phases of the pandemic, routine influenza testing was halted due to the increased demand for SARS-CoV-2 testing....
